Week 1 (January 1–7) | Reset & Vision
Focus: Reflection, goal-setting, compliance

  • New Year’s Day – Office Closed (if applicable)

  • Review prior year outcomes & impact metrics

  • Finalize annual goals, KPIs, and program priorities

  • Update board calendar & meeting schedule

  • Prepare grant pipeline & funding calendar

  • Staff vision alignment meeting

  • Social post: “A New Year of Purpose & Impact”

Week 2 (January 8–14) | Community & Awareness
Focus: Education, visibility, partnerships

  • National Poverty in America Awareness Month (all January)

  • National Mentoring Month (all January)

  • Launch community awareness campaign (education, hunger, workforce, housing, etc.)

  • Schedule partner check-ins (schools, churches, agencies)

  • Update website impact stats & testimonials

  • Social post: “Why Our Work Matters”

Week 3 (January 15–21) | Service & Engagement
Focus: Volunteerism, outreach, MLK Day

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day (3rd Monday in January)

  • Day of Service or community outreach event

  • Volunteer appreciation recognition

  • Host or promote:

  • Food distribution

  • Job readiness workshop

  • Health or financial literacy session

  • Capture photos/videos for grants & social media

  • Email update to donors & supporters

Week 4 (January 22–31) | Funding & Reporting
Focus: Grants, donors, sustainability

  • Prepare and submit January grant applications

  • Send donor thank-you letters & impact updates

  • Finalize prior year financials (for grants & audits)

  • Review compliance requirements (IRS, state, funders)

  • Plan February campaigns & events

  • Social post: “Your Support in Action”

  • Human Trafficking Prevention Month

  • National Slavery & Human Trafficking Prevention Month
